Beetroot Tikki

Serves                                    4

Ingredients

Beetroot (grated)                   1 cup
Boiled potatoes (grated)      1/2 cup 
Onions (chopped)                 1/4 cup
Ginger (chopped)                  1 tbsp
Garlic (chopped)                   1 tbsp
Cornflour                                5 tbsp
Red chili powder                   1 tsp
Garam masala                        1 tsp
Coriander powder                 2 tsp
Chat masala                            1 1/2 tsp
Dry mango powder               1 1/2 tsp
Salt                                           to taste
Oil                                             2 tbsp + for frying

Method

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a non stick wok. Add chopped garlic and saute.
Add ginger and onions to the wok. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
Add grated beetroot to the wok and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
Add salt and saute for 1 minute.
Switch off the gas and let it cool. Transfer the beetroot mixture to the bowl.
Add boiled potatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chat masala, salt and dry mango powder.
Mix well.
Add cornflour to the mixture and mix well.
Make a dough of the mixture.
Grease your palm with oil and make tikkis of the mixture.
Heat oil in a wok.Simmer the flame and fry the tikkis till they are cooked and turn golden brown.
Beetroot tikki is ready to serve.
Serve hot with mint chutney.
